Welcome to Year Four
This is a great year for the children as they move through KS2, developing their independence.
We look forward to continuing our learning through immersive topics such as the Ancient Romans and Egyptians. We continue to have great trips such as Caerleon Roman Museum and we have an overnight trip in the summer.

Reading: Please continue to encourage your child to read aloud to you at home as often as possible and write the names of the books they read in their Reading Record. If they read four or more times a week, they will get a Dojo and be entered into the 'Reading Hat' for a chance to win a book token.
We recommend a mixture of independent reading, reading with and reading to your child for 15 minutes per day.
Spellings: A list of spellings will be handed out at the beginning of the term with spellings being tested every Friday. Spare copies of our term's spellings can be found below. Use the links below to view the different term's spelling lists.
Mathematics: Daily times table practise. Regular practise by rote and through games to learn all 12 x 12 times table by the end of the year.
Weekly: Children will be asked to complete either an English, Mathematics or Topic piece each week. The details will be on google classroom and it is the child's responsibility to ensure that their work is completed on time.
