At Westbury Park we follow Little Wandle phonics planning,which meets the statutory requirements of the curriculum and provides a clear progression. Rigorous and systematic teaching of phonics with on-going assessment supports reading and writing and provides children with a firm foundation on which to build. Our aim is that all children will have a sound knowledge and understanding of phonics by the end of Key Stage 1. Some, however, will need continued support in Key Stage 2.
