Free School Meals (FSM)
The government now gives school a significant amount of extra money for each pupil who is eligible for FSM. Your child is entitled to receive free school meals each day if you are in receipt of one of the following:
-
Income Support
-
income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
-
income-related Employment and Support Allowance
-
support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
-
the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
-
Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
-
Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
-
Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
We would strongly encourage you to apply for this. If your child does not want to eat a school dinner, then that is not a problem, but there are other ways in which we can support you and your child, if your child is eligible for FSM. please apply via Bristol City Council here.
Whole School Food Policy
We endeavour to be a nut free school. Parents are asked to refrain from providing food products, which may contain nuts, in packed lunches or any other food brought into the school and children with a nut and/or peanut allergy have an individual management plan. Staff have training where required.
